First Days
The first days
We want your child to feel happy and safe at the preschool. To make sure that this is the case, the staff will work with you to decide on how to help your child to settle into the preschool. The preschool has a policy about helping children through transitions to school or other settings: a copy is enclosed in our policies. An annual transition plan is developed and shared with relevant parents, before the summer term.

Clothing
The pre-school provides protective clothing for the children when they play with messy activities.
We encourage children to gain the skills which help them to be independent and look after themselves. These include taking themselves to the toilet and taking off - and putting on - outdoor clothes; please consider this when choosing their clothing - in order to make their lives easier!
Mishaps can, and do happen for all sorts of reasons, especially at first. We keep a stock of spare pants, socks, jumpers, etc and are happy to lend these, but your child may prefer to keep a bag with spare items of their own clothes on their peg, to change as necessary.
