Parental Involvement
How parents take part in the preschool
Our most recent Ofsted report (July 2019) highlighted our parent involvement with our pre-school, saying:
"Partnerships with parents are very strong". "Staff work closely with parents to ensure children feel confident about starting pre-school. Staff continue to work closely in partnership with parents throughout children's time at the setting". OFSTED 2019
Parents said (July 2024)
“Thank all of you for being the best! and for how much you helped me and my child! We will be grateful forever!!” Parent 2024
“Ruth you are an angel. You’ve stood with us in ways we’ve never expected. Thank you for all your advice, care, Tea, applications. Thank you for checking in on us, and your kind favours and just for everything else. Thank you for caring for us and our child”!
As a member of the Early Years Alliance, North Hinksey Preschool recognises parents as the first and foremost educators of their children. All of the staff see themselves as co-workers with you in providing care and education for your child. There are many ways in which parents take part in making the preschool a welcoming and stimulating place for children and parents, such as:
• exchanging knowledge about their children's needs, activities, interests and progress with the staff
• helping at sessions of the preschool
• sharing their own special interests with the children
• helping to provide, make and look after the equipment and materials used in the children's play activities
• being part of the management of the preschool
• taking part in events and informal discussions about the activities and curriculum provided by the pre-school
• joining in community activities in which the preschool takes part
• building friendships with other parents in the preschool
